Annual Entrepreneurship Gala Held at UO

The students of the University of Okara’s Department of Management Sciences organized an Entrepreneurship Gala under the supervision of their teachers including Shehzad Aziz, Rai Imtiaz, Abdul Manan and Hafiz Fawad Ali. A range of innovative business ideas including ecommerce, information technology, hoteling and consultancy services were presented through stalls, models and posters. The gala started with a grand opening ceremony. The Resident Officer Dr. Shehzad Ahmed, Director Administration & Academics Waqar Ahmed Sheikh and Assistant Professor Botany Dr. Faheem Arshad inaugurated the event. In his address to the students, he urged them to bring their business ideas to life and start small-scale businesses after passing out in a bid to create employment opportunities for the youth. Explaining the objective of the gala, Shehzad Aziz told that the students of management sciences had an integral role to play in society as they possessed the skills and knowledge to initiate entrepreneurships and engage students of other disciplines. Rai Imtiaz acknowledged the efforts of the students in making the gala a mega success and wish them good fortune for their future endeavors. He said that the Department of Management Sciences was aimed at inculcating the entrepreneurship skills among the students through practical teaching as per the vision of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zakria Zakar. According to the university spokesperson, the Entrepreneurship Gala is held every year in February at the UO. The purpose of this gala is to motivate and encourage the students to exhibit their skills and create employment opportunities for themselves as well as their fellows.
