Vice Chancellor Message

Education of the modern times hinges around innovation, creativity and skill-development. Degrees should be supplemented with the value addition of cutting-edge approach, prolific mindset and applied expertise. This purpose can be achieved when a university applies unorthodox pitch and students accept it with passion. It works both ways. Teachers need to think out of the nutshell of syllabi and students should maneuver to go beyond grades. I am focused to initiate and flourish this culture at University of Okara in a bid to make it a center of excellence in teaching, research, and service to local, national and international communities. My challenge is to help generate ideas that will benefit society and educate and train students to work in fields where they will be valued both for their specialized knowledge, and for their ability to do research, communicate and solve problems. To meet this challenge, we will be developing alliances and collaborative partnerships with business community, government organizations, and national and international research and teaching institutions. This will help us to ensure the ongoing relevance of our academic degree programmes and the continued excellence of our teaching. We at OU are dedicated to the responsibility of creating a global knowledge disseminating hub, transgressing national and International borders and territories, thereby transforming every student into a responsible human being, having innovative mind set thereby proving as an excellent professional. University, an institution of higher learning, is responsible for producing human capita best suited to serve the human community as successful individuals. This requires grooming of the students into a balanced human, behaving, reacting and communicating impressively and positively in an unbiased way with the fellow human beings. The second part of this training is to widen their knowledge base in their respective fields of specialization, having capacity to find solutions to problems faced by the human community and also having innovations and drive to generate newer knowledge for betterment of future generations. The knowledge is multiplying in a geometric progression with the advancing time, requiring a harder work from the teachers and the students to remain with the national and international community. Local problems and innovations come from the people working in and effected by of local conditions, requiring universities to come out of their four walls to know local problems and offering workable solutions. University of Okara is alive its responsibility and is making all out efforts to develop closer liaisons with general communities, field departments, business community, industrialists and national/ international research and teaching institutions to provide teachers and students a wider exposure, preparing the teachers to develop the courses of studies to the market demands, going for out of textbook teaching in the classrooms and inculcating students to have unbiased analysis of the situations through an innovative mind to best serve local area and nation, as also proving as world leaders in areas of their specialization. For the purpose teachers need dedicated and students receptive. Our success is in working together with common motives.
